designed by Natasza Sałańska, 2010

The main task was to create a set of dishes which would enable visually-impaired elderly people to have meals without assistance. People blind from early life acquire the ability to find way around their disability throughout their life. The same is not true of elderly people who lose their independence, will to live, become frustrated and depressed together with their sight. Their closest family feel helpless and suffer as they watch the struggle of their loved ones. Dishes are based on a range of solutions developed by the designer while observing one of her closest relatives. Plates and bowls have raised and profile edges which facilitate scooping up food, dishes and cutlery are stabilized to the tray with magnets. Dishes can be used by all members of the family.
